At a quick glance…
📍 Level 1, Parramatta Library
🚗 Parramatta Square Car Park
🍼 2 semi-private feeding areas
🔄 1 stationary change table (+1 fold-down table in feeding area)
🍴 1 microwave
🚽 No parent-child toilet
🚸 No toddler play zone
Located on Level 1 near the Children’s Library at PHIVE, Parramatta Library’s parent room provides a somewhat private space for feeding and changing. You’ll need to buzz a button for entry, and the receptionist will open the door for you remotely. While the library itself is full of impressive features, the parent room feels surprisingly small and lackluster: particularly disappointing given that the library actively hosts Story Time programs for families with young children.

🅿️ Parking
Eastern Creek Quarter offers all-day free parking with accessible parking conveniently located at all entry points. The location of the parent room is easy to find and easy to access, especially during busy shopping periods.
🤱 The Nursing Room Setup
The two feeding areas use curtains for separation, but they’re not particularly effective. They don’t reach full length and the material is thin. Two chairs and one side table between both spaces, plus a fold-down change table in one area. It’s functional if you need it, though the setup could definitely benefit from improvements given how family-focused the library’s programs are.

🔁 Changing Area
One change table next to a sink handles nappy changes with easy hand-washing access. Does what it needs to do, nothing fancy.

🫧 Kitchen and Toilet
There’s a microwave for heating bottles or food. Just be aware there aren’t any spare power points if you want to bring other equipment. You won’t find a parent-child toilet here either – the accessible toilets outside is the other option.

🛝Toddler Play Zone
No play area or activities for toddlers. Given the library has Story Time and a whole children’s section nearby, having nothing to occupy older kids while you’re feeding or changing feels like something that could be improved.
💭 Final Thoughts
The parent room at PHIVE doesn’t match the quality of the rest of the building. Between the inadequate curtains, limited space, no extra outlets, and lack of toddler facilities, it feels quite basic for a library that actively brings families through its doors. It covers feeding and changing needs, but not much beyond that.
