The Parents Room at Forest Lodge’s Tramsheds offers a well-equipped, accessible, and dare i say… luxurious space for families visiting the precinct.
Receiving a 5 Star Rating from Australia’s Breastfeeding Association in 2017, here is a quick breakdown of its features (and I promise you’ll love it!):
🅿️ Parking
You’ll get 2 hours of free parking at the Tramsheds. Even better, the parents room is on the ground floor. No awkward elevator Tetris with a double pram, or in my case, a bulky Babybee Juno that barely fits through most doors.
Inside, there’s a pram parking area for up to three strollers. It’s a great idea that opens up the nursing space nicely.
Just remember not to leave any valuables in your pram – always best to keep the important stuff with you.

🍼 Feeding Area
There are three individual nursing spaces. These aren’t dark, curtained-off corners – they’re open, comfy, and thoughtfully designed. Each space includes:
Warm lighting that won’t blind you or your baby A clean chair with armrests A USB port (so yes, you can charge and/or while feeding) A small side table for your coffee, bottle, or phone
It’s a quiet, gentle space that makes feeding on the go feel that little bit easier.

🚼 Changing Area
There are three change tables, each with its own bin and sink. A tray of tissues is nearby, which comes in handy for those little cleanups.
Pro tip: bring your own change mat. There’s no guarantee of what was there before you. The bins were doing their job, though one of them had clearly been missed. A bit of a smell, but nothing that would stop me from using the space.
Also worth noting – just a few steps away from the changing area, there are two small couches and a coffee table. It’s helpful if you need to sit and settle bub before or after a change, or if you’re tag-teaming the job with another parent.

👶 Toddler Play Zone
There’s a proper gated play space for toddlers. It’s roomy, has a TV, and just enough space for little legs to burn energy without chaos.

🧼 Kitchen + Bathroom Features
You’ve got:
• A microwave
• Two outlet ports (yes, you can plug in the bottle warmer and still charge your phone)
• A sink with handwash + sanitiser
• And a private bathroom with a toilet

💬 Final Thoughts
The Tramsheds Parents Room ticks a lot of boxes. It’s practical, easy to access, and clearly designed with parents in mind. The nursing chairs are comfortable. The play area adds a nice touch. And small things like USB ports and pram parking show real thought went into this setup.
It’s also the perfect pit stop when you’re out for a walk at Bicentennial Park: a peaceful place to reset, feed, change, or just regroup before heading back out.
Yes, the bins could be fresher. But overall, this space is well above average.
Would we come back? Absolutely.
Should more places copy this layout? Yes please.
